Tell the supplier whether the item will be used in a covered space, near an entrance or directly exposed to weather. Include the expected duration and handling conditions. The description should be specific enough for the product’s suitability to be reviewed.
Ask for Documented Use Conditions
Request the selected model’s intended-use instructions and any relevant performance evidence. A finish or coating should not be assumed to make the complete product waterproof or suitable for outdoor seating.
Do Not Modify the Product Without Guidance
If you are considering a coating, cover or changed assembly, ask whether that modification is approved for the model. Do not rely on a general treatment recommendation as evidence that the product will meet the project’s requirements.
Choose Around the Actual Requirement
If outdoor suitability cannot be confirmed, select a product documented for the required setting. For an indoor paper display, agree transport, storage and care arrangements so it can be used according to its instructions.
